I traveled to an Art show in Sanford, North Carolina with my grandmother to see her friend's work. It was really cool to see the different variations of Art and the techniques that people used to create their pieces. My favorite category in the Art show was Genre, and in that category I noticed this one piece of Art that really caught my attention, because it looked so different from the others. This unique piece of Art used expressionism, which is a distorted type of Art that is meant to evoke emotions, or show the inner emotions of an artist. I find this "expressionism" type of Art to be extremely interesting, because there are usually varying shapes shown in the artwork. The drawing that caught my eye was called "Reading News to Plants." This piece earned first place in its category. I wanted to buy this Art piece but, unfortunately, it had already been sold. (The picture below is of the postcard that advertised the Art Show.)
